Vitu Levu, Nadi – Fiji.

Vitu Levu, Nadi - Fiji.

Vitu Levu, Nadi - Fiji.

A Rural gateway to paradise.

The Captain and Admiral sat and reminisced on the picture postcard memories they had made as the boat rocked on the South Pacific ocean, they could only wonder what was running through the Cadet’s mind as he nibbled on his salted and slightly sweet popcorn.

They disembarked and as usual the Admiral’s motherly instincts went into overdrive, frantically panicking to feed the Cadet as if he was starving. The Captain's mind wondered to Fawcett and the Amazon, where explorers did not eat for almost monthson end. The comparison in this case was futile. Reassuring the Admiral that the Cadet still had some fat reserves to survive on, they awaited their bags and the shuttle bus that was to take them to their next abode - Club Fiji, every second the pressure was building as the Cadet was now metabolising his muscle mass in the Admiral’s mind. Finally the bus came and they started to move.

Reaching Club Fiji they again had to wait for the rooms to be organised. The cadet was playfully running around the reception area when they were called and the bags taken to the rooms. The staff instantly were warm and lovely, just casually chatting to us as we walked down to our rooms. One of the staff members asked the Captain if he liked coconut water, to which the Captain responded “hell yes” the staff member instantly in mission mode to get a coconut from a tree, the Captain hoping this would help with the Admiral’s anxiety. And it surely did lift the mood once it arrived. Offering it to the Cadet was not the best idea however, he did not like the taste and spat it out, stating “Its too tasty” They did not attempt to offer it to him again.

They then went and sat by the pool ordering some tempura chicken for the Cadet in hopes he would eat some. He ate just enough to survive the harsh realities of living in fully equipped resort life.
After a quick lunch and some coconut water, they headed to the room for a rest. Whilst the Admiral and Cadet caught up on some sleep, the Captain continued to read of cannibalism and amazonian parasites.

When they woke up they planned to go and check out the Nadi town. They jumped in a taxi and headed in, noticing the rural landscape the whole way in, the lack of population made the city look more like a village. As they arrived in town it was evident that the city centre was no different. Underdeveloped, with little stores catering more for locals than for the large tourist base that visit the city. They got out of the taxi and instantly were approached by a pirate that led them on a 10 minute walk to a “local made” store. Instantly upon entering the Captain knew this was a scam, asking the price of an item, it was evident that it was. They quickly said thank you and left the store, wanting to go and explore.

Knowing that the Cadet was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, they wheeled his stroller and walked along the strip looking for souvenirs and gifts for friends and family. Visiting several shops they got to one in which the Captain liked one item, in a whirlwind he returned to the Admiral with a full basket stating “screw it let's just grab everything from here” Shoving a million things into his basket for the next 40 minutes he ran around shopping. On the other side the Cadet had escaped his confines and the Admiral was entertaining him as he tried on every pair of high heels and women’s sandals in the shop.
Finally when they had managed to get everything the Admiral noticed that the engraving on some of the items were incorrect. The Captain had gotten the wrong name carved in. Frantic, he pleaded with the shopkeepers to allow him to change it, given they were purchasing so many things the manager obliged, recarving the correct name into the items.
Just when things looked complete, the manager started the paperwork to get duty free.

It seems like it went on forever, entering every single line item into the system to ensure that they would get the duty back when departing the country. Although he was trying to do good the duration of him Entering every item started to get a little bit detrimental. The cadet was going off his hinge and the impatience was building up. He had now been in that store for about 2 hours, his hunger and restlessness started to take over. He was running around being completely crazy as the captain stood by. Hoping that the paperwork would be complete soon. It finally was. They finally scooped the cadet up and left the store. It was already dark outside.

The store managers had recommended a restaurant which was a couple of doors down. They had one of the staff members escort the crew there because they felt it was a little bit unsafe to walk the streets at night. They got to the restaurant and it was dark and very dingy, There was no one else inside and all the lights were switched off. When they did switch them on, they were flickering. It reminded the captain of something out of a horror film. Against their instincts they took a seat and started to look at the menu. They found a few items that they wanted to get. Rather than waiting, they ordered the Cadets' food and then continued to look at the menu for themselves. When ordering three out of the four items that they ordered were not available, considering the rough looking spot they made a quick call to leave the establishment. The staff informed them that they had already started making that cadet's food. Unfortunately this is not good enough and the captain insisted that they will leave. It was not a place that they could remain for longer. It was too dark and now hosted some unsavoury characters by the bar. Scurrying out ,they then tried the restaurant which was across the road and looked a lot more appetising, was brightly lit with more families inside.

The place they visited was the fast food chain called Galiotos, the menu resembled Nando's as if it was a cheap knock off. Staff informed them that the menu items were going to be spicy and this may be a problem for the Cadet. As time was running out they decided not to move on and to order something from there and take the risk. When the food came it was not spicy. They also discovered that orange juice in the country was Fanta. The cadet and everybody ate quickly. The food also tasted very much like Nando's with a little bit more turmeric in the sauces. The Cadet enjoyed the chicken and ate adequately.

They exited the establishment and instantly were a little bit rattled by the emptiness of the streets. Their minds were playing up on what the shopkeeper had said about it being a little bit rough at night. In any case, after many failed attempts to politely hail a taxi, a local couple standing nearby came to their rescue, by yelling at a taxi that was across the road whistling and carrying on to get them to come over. Within seconds the driver turned on his lights and popped over. They told the crew that this is how it's done in Fiji.

Arriving back at the hotel. The Captain was called aside by the staff members to come and join them for Kava, to which the captain agreed and they poured him a bowl. Instantly his lips were numb. He wanted to continue but the Admiral needed him so he retreated. As they walked into the resort, they saw a giant bonfire going on the beach, The cadet was hypnotised. They took him along to the Burning heap which was just on the beach. Turns out that the resort does a bonfire every week, this proved to be amazing, the Captain and Cadet stood and watched whilst the Admiral headed back into the hotel room to set up the night time routine.

The second day started with Breakfast, followed by jumping in a taxi to head to the sleeping giant gardens. The taxi driver was quite chatty and was explaining about Fiji as we drove past villages and establishments made for the staff that worked on the resorts. He also pointed out the expensive hotels and resorts that they drove past.

They arrived at the sleeping giant gardens only to think that this is a bit of a hack. They paid the entry and walked around the gardens. Much like the captain and Admiral, the Cadet was not impressed, It just seemed like a jungle forest with pretty plants and lots of trees. It was getting exhausting to carry the Cadet as he had no interest in the fauna that surrounded him. The Captain was wondering if these rainforests resemble the ones in the book he was reading and if this was what the lost city of z would have looked like.
They found a forest swing that occupied them for about 5 minutes before deciding to walk on, they climbed the walkways higher into the forest. It was amongst this walk that the Cadet discovered a stick and started killing mosquitoes with it, at least in his mind. It was amusing for a little while, however, just like the forest around them, the novelty had worn off pretty quickly.

Following a refreshing beverage that was provided by the cafe and possibly the only value for money on the tour, they retreated back into the car and headed towards the next landmark, Sabeto Hot Spring Mud Pools. Luckily it was a short drive and they were still recovering from the heat, the Captain wondered on how the Cadet would take the mud baths as he's a bit of a clean freak, any signs of dirt generally seems to distress the little man.

Once they got there, a local guide was assigned to them, he directed the crew to the change rooms and asked them to strip to their underwear. Once they were done, they were escorted by the guide to a big open space. The Mud pools were not exactly how the Captain had pictured them, instead of pools of mud, they were several buckets full of sludge that they were to apply on their bodies. The Guide stated how in the morning they go out to collect the mineral rich mud from the forests.

Initially when the Cadet got some mud on him he was a little distressed. He didn't know what was going on but when the Admiral and Captain started to lather themselves up with the black goop, the Cadet seemed to be a little bit more open to the idea of being painted with mud. This was short lived however as he soon realised that he was indeed very dirty and started to panic. Luckily there was another child who distracted the Cadet by chasing him around as the mud dried on their bodies. The Admiral also joined in the fun and it was three little piggies running around covered in mud.
Once they had dried up, They were escorted by their guide to a series of mineral baths that were heated naturally. The first one and second were mainly to get the mud off, followed by a third and fourth very warm pool in which they could swim around. It had been a successful mission, and one that was much more satisfying and enjoyable compared to the gardens they visited earlier. They dried off and walked back to the taxi to head back to the resort.

Reaching in perfect timing for the Cadet’s all important nap , they rested in the room, before deciding to explore the resort and take a dip in one of the pools. The Captain was busy talking to the staff members and making friends with the bartender. This proved pretty fruitful as the bartender was able to make the cadet a strawberry milkshake to enjoy whilst he swam in the pools.

As time progressed, they decided to knock off one more thing off the list and headed to the largest Hindu temple in the Pacific islands (or so they were told by the driver). The Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple Is dedicated to Karthik who is the brother of Ganesha and the son of Shiva. They walked around and prayed for surviving the rest of the trip as well as saying some prayers for family and friends. The peaceful place did not have much of an impact on the cadet who had instantly run into the “priest only” area of the temple and had to be escorted out by the dedicated priest there. Aside from this mishap, the place felt peaceful and refreshing for both the Captain and Admiral.

The crew were treated to a nice dinner at the resort and thankfully the Cadet was hungry and able to chomp down on some sustenance. The dinner was followed by some Poloneasian dancing, which once again meant that it was the Cadets time to shine, running to the front and participating in the foreign dance. Once the entertainment was over it was time to take a backseat as the dancers lit their torches and proceeded to do a fire dance. The Cadet was once again mesmerised, asking continuously “What they doing?” Once the fire dance finished they were able to take some selfies with the performers and head back to the room. It had been an eventful and long day.

The next day started off with breakfast and some drama. They had managed to negotiate a price on the previous night with the tour operator, however the information that was given was not correct. The price was more than what was quoted, while the Cadet ate, the Captain made a few calls only to find out that despite the elevated price the amount was still cheaper than other operators. They had to agree to the updated terms and set out on the 1 hour drive to the Kula Eco park

After the one hour journey to the animal sanctuary, they arrived with a very curious Cadet. Excitedly they entered the park only to find hundreds of little children, escorted by teachers entering the park. Looks like there were several schools that had the same idea and had made use of the good weather and arrived at the same time as the squadron had to the park. It took a while for them to navigate through the crowds as they walked towards the exhibits. Seeing lots of turtles, exotic fish, birds and peacocks as they explored the park grounds. A highlight of the expedition was definitely the dancing white peacock which put on a beautiful show as they watched its majestic dance.
They were able to pick up and make friends with some reptiles which seemed to amuse the cadet for a good minute, before his attention went to something else.

After engaging with the animals they visited the play area, which had a little water section that the Cadet could play in. The water was absolutely freezing and despite another little Cadet asking him to join her engaging in some militia-like training on the play equipment, It was too cold for him and he just ran around the edges. While this carfuffle was going on the Captain and Admiral were able to grab some food and prepare a little lunch for the Cadet. Despite all the distractions,he was able to eat.

Post lunch they were supposed to go and feed the turtles which was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. They arrived at the spot only to find it completely empty. Confused They started looking at all the possible variables only to realise that the Captain's watch had been incorrectly set and it was actually 2:30. They missed it by an hour.

Disappointed and the Admiral a little bit angry at the Captain for his miscalculation, they left the park and on the way as we walked through the exhibits again the Cadet had an incoming projectile in the shape of a bird that almost smacked him as it flew past this scared the hell out of him. Safely escaping they got back to the car and headed back to the resort.

After the long card ride they got back to the resort and had a quick nap before heading out to the private beach that they had not explored yet. It was their last day at the resort and it was and it would be sin not to check it out. They strolled over and while the Admiral and Cadet played. The captain made friends with the bartender who provided another complementary strawberry milkshake for the Cadet. He was very happy. They watched the waves, hit the shore, collected shells, coconuts and built sand castles sitting under the sun.

After a quick google of nice places to go to have dinner, the Admiral and Captain made the decision to head to the local Japanese restaurant, not only did the Cadet love Sushi, but they had teppanyaki, an experience that the Captain had never had before. The place looked authentic when they arrived, even being greeted by a cat that was walking around the ground floor. They were escorted upstairs and to a table with a large stainless steel plate for cooking. The experience was pleasant enough even though it lacked the theatrics that the Captain had expected. Despite the rather expensive meal, the Captain was still a bit peckish, so they decided to cross the road and have a dabble in the local Burger King that was there. Whilst they ate, the Cadet happily played in the play area.

FInding a Taxi was a bit of a challenge, however walking down to the shopping centre, where the Captain bought some obscure snacks, they were able to hail one down and make friends with the Taxi driver on the way back to the resort.

Upon getting out of the Cab the Assistant manager approached the Captain and invited him to the join the staff as they drank Kava, the Captain excited by the offer said that he will be back soon after putting the Cadet to sleep. Rushing through the bedtime routine he finished up and went and joined the staff. Sitting with them for a few hours and drinking 8 bowls of the muddy tasting intoxicating fluid. The time was well spent, learning a ton about local life, and the history of the resort, which turns out was owned by an Aussie who lived in Sydney.
After some quality time spent, the Captain stumbled back to the room and passed out.

The next morning the Captain woke up a little bit hungover from the night's activities before but he had no time to squander as they all had to pack and check out of the resort that they were staying at and head to their final destination which was Fiji gateway resort close to the airport. They grabbed breakfast and then caught a taxi and headed down.

Arriving at the gateway hotel there were advised that they would not be able to check in for another couple of hours. However, they were allowed to go and use the facilities, which included their epic swimming pool. They quickly stripped down and headed to the swimming pool ready to go for a dip. The swimming pool at the resort was pretty amazing and it featured a very large water slide. Instantly the captain was attracted to the landmark. He dashed up to the top of the stairs and asked the Admiral and Cadet to follow. He went down with a whoosh! What he did not realise was that the water at the end of the pool was quite deep and he could not touch the floor after he landed, which was very unusual for him, he struggled and swam to the side considering his swimming, skills are not at A level.

Worriedabout his beloved Admiral and Cadet who would soon be hurtling down the slide into the deep blue, the Captain saved himself by climbing out of the pool first. He then yelled out to the Admiral of the dangers below, but it was too late as she was already sliding down with the Cadet on her lap . The Cadet splashed in and the admiral was flapping around. Unsure if he could help or if he would drown, the Captain stood on the poolside and reached out to grab them but they were too far away. So he proceeded to cheer on the drowning pair instead with well intentioned yelling that he was safely out of the water. The Admiral was heroic. Her mother's senses activated and she held the Cadet above her head as she was under the water. The Captain edged closer and was able to grab the cadet saving his life while the Admiral struggled. Was a big debacle but they came out untouched.

Just as they were recovering from their water adventures, they got a call from the admiral's mother. Turns out that her father had reached the airport and was waiting for them to arrive in Melbourne. He had arrived one day early to pick them up. After a pretty hilarious phone call, they sat around tanning by the pool, staying far away from the waterslide that almost cost them their lives, until their room was ready.

Finally, they checked in and it was a wonderful room just as the resort was extremely pretty. After a quick nap They headed into the city to pick up some remaining souvenirs. The issue was that they were already running low on time and by the time they got to the city everything would start to shut. They hustled, and just as the Captain had predicted everything had started to close by the time they got in. It was going to be the last day that they were there so they had to grab everything as fast as they could. In a bit of a flurry they started going down some side streets to see if anything was open and ended up in a fruit and veg market. The Cadet was very patient, during this ordeal and through exploration they were able to find some shops that they could buy things from. Although it was very stressful at the time it was a fantastic experience for the Captain as he had the opportunity to feel like a local and shop like a local at smaller stores throughout the small town.

Finishing up the crew headed to an Indian restaurant that they saw on their previous day’s adventures.Once they arrived, they were pleasantly surprised by the food and the ambience. The cadet loved the food and basically picked up everything and ate it himself which was unusual for him. It seemed like his genes kicked in and he was craving the subcontinental cuisine.
The successful expedition was over after a good feed and they headed back to the hotel for a good night's rest, getting ready for their last day in the tropical paradise

The last day began with an early start. They contacted the driver that they had met on their way back from the Japanese restaurant. To take them to Natadola Beach, which locals classified as the best beach on the mainland. The driver arrived and asked if he could bring his wife along for the long journey. The Captain and Admiral thought that this was a bit random but agreed instantly.

They went to the village to pick up his wife who was a friendly old lady. It turns out that the driver and his wife did not have children and loved kids so the whole ride over to the beach she was talking to the Cadet and instantly had fallen in love with him. The whole drive she chatted and entertained The Cadet. They were both very nice people, and the absence of a child can be seen in their lives with the amount of love they were giving to the squad.

After the long drive to the beach, they were welcomed by locals on horses that were selling coconuts, given the extreme heat, the captain and Cadet bought some straight away, the local came over and chopped it fresh for them. It was the most refreshing thing they could have asked for at the time.
Following the coconuts ceremony, the Captain and Cadet, headed towards the water and started playing. First a game in which the cadet threw a stick into the water and the waves brought it back, then a game of dig your way to China. Both activities providing enough entertainment to keep them occupied for hours.

Finally like tearing away a Band-Aid from skin, they tore the cadet from the ocean and circumnavigated to the closest place to eat which was the intercontinental hotel. Approaching a very big and stereotypical islander who was Manning the security for the hotel, The Captain asked if they could come inside and have lunch with the Cadet. The man eventually after radioing in with his superiors declined saying that you need to buy a day pass to enter the resort which was $60 per person and then pay for lunch. After some discussion with the Admiral at the ridiculousness of the idea, they decided that they would not pursue this with the hotel management any further and left to the vessel to find an alternative refreshment station.

They did not have to travel too far as the resort next door was able to accommodate. They had a quick feed and freshened up before their long journey back with their newfound companions. Unfortunately, the newfound friendship took a toll when they decided to chat and cuddle the cadet the whole way back not giving him the opportunity to have his nap.

They reached back to the hotel exhausted from the sun soaking that they had done all day, After saying a long goodbye to the driver and his wife, they retreated to their rooms for a quick rest before deciding where to go for dinner.

It was their last night in paradise and they had been told that they had to check out the Port Denarau pier for dinner. It was an a-list tourist destination when visiting Nadi.

Arriving at the port. They could already see that the cadet was pretty cranky and despite an emergency lollipop, his temperament was not improving. Luckily there was a play centre that was strategically located on the top floor of the establishment. The Admiral and Captain split up. The captain departed for a recon mission in which he looked for places that they could eat while surveying the land. He came across the famous hot bread bakery which was famous for its cream buns. The captain quickly grabbed a few and returned with multiple dinner options.

The Admiral was very happy to see him. The cadet's mood had also much improved since they had last seen each other. He was now happily playing whilst the Admiral had captain quickly devoured their newfound cream bun love.

Once again prying the Cadet off the play equipment they headed towards the Mexican place where they could eat. Much to the surprise of the staff, they ordered a huge amount from the menu and proceeded to eat it all. Everyone was starving after their big day. Then it was time to return home. As they waited for the taxi driver to arrive, they found themselves in the middle of another traditional show that was happening in the centre of the pier. The Cadet was extremely excited by the fire dancers and joined in dancing. When the taxi driver did arrive, the Cadet already had a fan following of spectators that were watching him dance to the traditional music.
The crew headed back to the resort for one last time getting back and packing everything. They had to be up at 4:00 in the morning to get to the airport.

The alarm rang and panic ensued. They had packed everything in the previous night but still the last checks took a little while. They arrived to the front of the hotel to see a lot of people waiting for the shuttle bus. Executive decision was made to walk to the airport rather than catch the shuttle. Not realising that what was across the road was only the arrivals part and the departures required further commuting.
The decision was made and they started rushing towards the terminal arriving puffed out and sweating.
Luckily There was no line and they were able to check in quickly.

They walked towards the gate 3 hours before their flight was scheduled to depart. Hoping that they would find a nice spot to sit. The captain tried his luck with his priority pass and went to the business lounge. With some miracle he was allowed in and the cadet and captain joined them in a very luxurious business class lounge where they were able to grab some breakfast and make themselves comfortable before the long flight home.
The captain used this opportunity to go and visit the tax back place for all the stuff that he had purchased earlier only to find that they required to see all the goods, which by now have been checked in and were probably on the plane. This was something that the store had told him that they did not need to do. The Captain was very disappointed and upset. He returned to the business lounge to devour some more of the free snacks available.

Finally, it got time for them to board their flight and they boarded quickly with a cranky cadet.

After a long flight back they thought that their adventure was over. However, the Admiral had left her phone on the plane. They had only realised once they had gotten their bags and were about to depart the airport. When they realised they panicked and split up. Looking for the right contacts to get The phone back. Finally after chatting to a lot of the ground staff, they found out that they could wait outside the office of Fiji airways. They made their way up to an area of the airport that they had never seen before and camped outside the office. After about an hour and a half waiting and no staff present they were about to give up when the Captain actually approached another airline and they said that they actually had the admiral's phone with them.
A much relieved captain and Admiral retrieve the phone and finally exit the airport to a waiting father-in-law.

Their holiday to paradise had come to an end and the adventure of reality awaited them. They had survived.

A kid friendly version of Paradise.

Captains Log Day 5 - 22/08/23 1:23 pm.
ML1215 Malolo Cat

They say that time flies after you have a child, the comparison often to me feels like a long haul international flight, yes you are moving forward, cruising at 900 km per hour, but it feels like a lifetime in a confined area and when you land it feels like bliss, often scattered with some nerves of arriving in a foreign land.

The above is also how The Captain and Admiral felt as they embarked on the flight to Fiji and like being on a flight, life had felt like an eternity since they last went on an adventure. The coincidental juxtaposition, boarding it felt like a flight landing, however the nerves felt far greater than the bliss.

The Captain accompanied by the Admiral and the slightly older Cadet Recruit, who was now 2 and a half years old boarded the 5 hour flight to Fiji. The flight over seems like a distant memory, but involved some napping, due to a strategically timed flight, some movies and finally landing in the foreign land. The flight time was timed perfectly, as when they landed restlessness levels were on the rise, rocketing towards very high levels.

Instantly they recall disembarking in Nadi and a wave of heat hitting them like a fijian rugby player tackling an opponent, they walked towards the immigration line exhausted and already feeling the effects of the heat paired with the agitated Cadet that had been cooped up in a small area for an extended period of time. Confronted with a long queue to the immigration they instantly noticed that there were other weary travellers with little offspring running around. After befriending some in the line, they were quick to realise the challenges they were facing were shared amongst others.

After a long wait to get out, they gathered their bags and were confronted with another roadblock, purchasing a SIM card. Tensions were reaching boiling point as they stood in line to purchase a SIM, Fiji time and the laid back attitude of the locals was instantly evident, a stark reminder that they were here to slow down and adapting to this world would be essential to the Captain, who in the past has not necessarily been known for his patience.
Finishing up getting a SIM card and cash they finally could set foot on the tropical soil only to be hit with another obstacle, the vessel that was to be there to pick them up was not present. Luckily there were other travelers in the same situation, unfortunately none with a Cadet aged child that had reached boiling point. This was their final trigger, they had to release the Kraken. Like a trapped wild hound, the Cadet was free, instantly running around, jumping and exerting his pent up energy.

Growing every more wild Cadet began to run around and pick up random objects from the floor and threaten to eat them. Fortunately at this point, the transportation finally arrived, the baptism of fire in regards to Fiji Time was over. The Captain and Admiral breathed a sigh of relief after being stuck at the airport for circa 2 hours it was time to move on and kickstart their Fijian adventure.

It was a short shuttle ride, with one other stop before they arrived at Tokatoka Resort Hotel, a place they would spend one night in Nadi before ferrying off to Plantation Island.
Post checking in to the hotel, they were ushered to the room by a friendly local who informed them that half of the hotel was occupied by the cast and crew of Love Island US. They had been filming for the last 4 months and would continue to stay there until the end of the year. Although the show was not being shot in the resort, the supporting crew members had chosen this as their hub, stationing the operations in the Tokatoka business centre.

Time had already gotten away from them; it was already approaching 10 pm local time, and they had to rush to get something to eat. The Captain and Admiral did a dump and dash and headed to the dining area, hoping they would still be able to get something to eat. They were fortunate the restaurant was open, however once again they encountered the long wait times, often at times noticing that the food was ready, with the waitresses just chilling by the bar counters. When the food did arrive, it was lacklustre and small, they had to order more food to fill their bellies, battling a Cadet that had decided to go on a hunger strike, refusing food and eating mere morsels. They felt cranky and exhausted as they headed back to the room to get some well deserved rest.

They managed to get into bed early only to wake up to a hysterical Cadet, he had woken up from what seemed a night terror or from exhaustion, yelling and screaming. The Admiral rushed and they tried to console him, in what seemed like an eternity, he finally calmed down and in that time they had given him panadol and contemplated calling in a house doctor as if something was wrong. They brought him to bed and he finally drifted off to sleep. The journey had started to take a toll.

Early morning, battered they arose, packing their bags and getting ready to travel once again. Recounting last night's escapades they walked to the breakfast areas. The adventure was not over as they had left one Bag behind before checking out. The Captain swooped in and collected the stroller and headed to the breakfast area, along the way starting friendly conversation with someone from the Love Island crew, who explained that under secrecy the work that was going on, without disclosing the show they were there to shoot. The Cadet’s hunger strike continued as did the lacklustre food, they ate what they could sharing their food with the millions of flies that surrounded them, frustrating the Cadet further and headed to reception to jump on the bus to take them to Denarau Marina.

The bus journey seemed to amuse the Cadet more than the journey had thus far, apart from the waterslide and the pool he gawked at earlier at the resort, which unfortunately they had no time to test out. They arrived at the marina and checked into the boat. There was time left before boarding began so the Admiral and Captain split up, the Captain headed to the bathroom, whilst the Admiral and Cadet headed to get a much needed Coffee. They later rendezvous with the Admiral who had a diabolical 4 shot iced long black in hand. After spending some time hanging around the marina observing other travellers, running around and watching other boats depart, it was finally time to board the ship destined to their island paradise Plantation Island.

The 1 hour boat journey was beautiful, observing the relatively untouched picturesque landscape was both relaxing and breathtaking. There is something about being surrounded by shades of blue calm waters that hypnotises the observers.

Arriving at the island was as magical as imagined, docking against a long launch ramp, they were greeted by locals singing and playing string instruments. The cadet was instantly amused, clapping along as they walked down the ramp to land. Presented with welcome drinks they sat and listened to the staff explain the resort rules and when they can check into the accommodation. Transported by a tractor, they ended up at the hotel reception and with a few hours to kill before check in they headed for the cafe for some food in the hopes that the hunger strike would end, the Admiral and Captain split up once again. The Admiral chose to feed the Cadet whilst the Captain headed off on a mini mission to book restaurants and other activities during their stay. He returned to a very upset Cadet and a deflated Admiral. The Cadet refused to eat, and the childrens meal provided was far too spicy for the Cadet. The hunger strike continued.

Patience started to run a bit thin as they finally went to the reception and requested if a room could be provided a little earlier. The Cadet needed some sleep and the crew needed to get some rest and cool down. The reception was kind and accommodating enough to oblige, escorting them through a giant complex to arrive at their poolside abode. The room was in the final stages of getting ready, with the staff completing the final Mop . They settled in putting the Cadet to sleep and rested for a few hours before waking up and getting ready to get into relaxation mode.

Gone are the Captain’s days of pub crawls, however this beckons the age of pool crawls, finally being able to shift gear, the Admiral, Captain and Cadet arose refreshed, finally feeling a sense of relief as they had settled into their new habitat, ready to embrace resort life. Changing into their swimmers they embarked on a pool crawl across the island resort.

After hitting 3 different pools, 2 waterslides, consuming several different cocktails (Yes, a Pina colada was involved too) they walked to see if they could hire bikes to ride around the resort. An idea the Admiral was against, however was persuaded due to the Cadet’s excitement. Unfortunately there were no bikes available for them. They headed back and retired to the room for a bit before walking to the beachside for a viewing of the beautiful sunset. It was stunning. Watching the sun’s descent over the horizon, standing on white sand and surrounded by shades of blue water was just phenomenal. A feeling the Captain will hold close in his heart when times are dark, a happy place for his mind to wander to when he needs it the most. A sense of calm before facing the challenges of life, and in particular Cadet’s feeding time.

The target dinner for the first night on the island was the Copra restaurant. A buffet restaurant that changes the menu on each night, changing cuisines. And the menu for the night couldn't be better - it was traditional Fijian cuisine. The Captain and Admiral loaded their plates with Lovo (traditional meat cooked underground) Kokoda (fijian raw fish dish in coconut cream) and various curries and items. Bringing it back to the table it was amazing to see the Cadet deciding to end his hunger strike and jumping into the food. Finally being presented with things he likes he was able to complete a whole plate of food. It felt like an enormous weight had been lifted off their shoulders, and the Cadet was no longer at riks of being malnourished. The crew continued onto the desserts section finishing off dinner on a high.

As they walked back to the room, there was a band playing local music, and the Cadet felt inclined to join in. going up to the stage to show his musical talents. Dancing along to the music he finally felt like he had life, happiness seeped out of him, the energy coursing through his veins. The Cadet was back and being serenaded by a group of locals.

They had been advised that following dinner was a local fire dance ceremony that would commence in about an hour. They got ready and headed back to the main area, saying hello to a few frogs on the way. They returned to the main area where the children of the resort were performing the dances they had learnt at the kids club earlier.
The Cadet was still full of energy, relieving himself from the clutches of the Admiral he ran towards the stage and joined the other children, completely unsynchronised he began to dance to his own rhythm. With the confidence of Tony Robbins on stage he bust a move alongside kids much older then him. This continued albeit on the side as polynesian dancers came onto the stage. Mimicking their moves on the sidelines the cadet danced with all his heart. What was in sync at the time however was the Admiral eyes focused directly at the abs of the local dancers, with a jaw that almost touched the floor (maybe some drool present) they watched on as the dancers entertained the audience.

The last activity of their first night in paradise was the fire dancing. After the native performances in the main area, the crowd was escorted outside onto the beach. Here the dancer emerged with fire torches, commencing to provide a visual feast of fire, dance and invigorating sound. Sparks flying in the minds and hearts of the squadron, they finally retreated back to the rooms, strolling back, contemplating their adventures tomorrow and saying goodnight to the frogs. Day 1 on the island, complete.

Day 2 started with a quick breakfast of coffee and muffins since the Captain was too cheap to pay the $40 per head for the buffet breakfast, luckily this time around there were no midnight meltdowns by the Cadet and they all had a much needed sound sleep.

After a quick stop to check if there are any bikes available (unfortunately none still) they headed straight to the beach. It was stunning. The sun was shining. The sand was white and soft, the water clear, that you could see the fishes swimming up to the shore. It looked and felt like one of the most pristine beaches that the captain had ever seen. Without wasting any time, he jumped in the water and prompted the Cadet to come in and join him. The Cadet refused. It seems like the sand had distressed him. All of a sudden he was not a fan of the beach, which was very unusual for the lad. With some convincing the Captain got him onto a kayak which he seemed mildly amused with, however upon coming back to the shore he began once again to be distraught. To alleviate his mood the Captain went over and hired a water bike, the Captain and Admiral commandeered the oversized vessel across the ocean. This seemed to get a few smiles from the Cadet and a lot of sweat from the pilots as they peddled profusely to keep the object moving in the water. 15 minutes of peddling took everything out of the Captain and Admiral, they docked and decided to return the water bike and jump on a shared Kayak with the Cadet. This seemed to displease the Cadet. There was a tantrum and sobbing on the boat, something the Captain never thought he would witness unfolding in the middle of the ocean. To try and lift the spirits and calm the hysterical Cadet down, they rowed the Kayak to the inflatables in the sea. Here in an effort to amuse the Cadet the Admiral put her body on the line and risked her life to get on to the extremely difficult floating object, flailing and often falling into the ocean. Witnessing the debacle that was ensuing the Cadets' tears increased, in volume and intensity, as he likely feared for his beloved Admiral’s life during her antics. (something that the Captain did not think possible) After many failed attempts to demonstrate ways to have fun, the Admiral boarded The giant floating inflatable park, only to be faced with the challenge of jumping off. The Captain on the other hand was trying to manage a Cadet as he wriggled and cried continuously. The Admiral was able to make a risky but brave dive into the water and swim back to the Kayak. They returned to the shore with a manic Cadet, whilst other holiday makers were amused by the distraught cadet in the midst of the picture perfect surroundings.
In a final attempt to calm the Cadet down, they built a sand castle (or as the Cadet calls them Sand Parcel) with the Captain gathering shells and the Admiral and Cadet building a structural base. This finally seemed to work and as if the last 40 minutes did not happen they had a smiling and joyful Cadet. All rejoiced.

After the beach Adventures they had decided to grab some lunch hoping that it would lift the spirits of the Cadet after his beach adventure, unfortunately he once again refused to eat despite the variety of different foods at the cafe. They were realising that he was hitting a wall, so they scurried back to the abode to give him his much needed Nap.

Whilst the Cadet and Admiral rested the Captain went on a mission to explore the resort further. He somehow found his way to the edge of the resort where there was an airstrip. He signed himself out and ventured across the airstrip to visit the adjacent resort, Musket Cove. Here the Captain explored the resort, finding a mini supermarket where they could do their shopping he bought some carrots and apples and returned to the room. The Admiral and Cadet were still fast asleep so he did The Logical thing, grabbed his Kindle and ordered a cocktail to sit by the pool. The peace was blissful. Knowing he had limited time to enjoy it he read of the adventurer Percy Fawcett and his adventures in the Amazon searching for the lost city of Z, comparing the challenges to his own.

It was not long after the Cadet and Admiral woke up that the hired nanny arrived. Illy was a young local, who worked as a chef on the island, he did not have any children and had volunteered to help look after the Cadet while the Captain and Admiral dined at the Island’s fine dining restaurant. After spending some time with him the hesitant Cadet started to become friends with this new stranger in his life. They walked around trying to familiarise him further with Illy, playing stick games and adding flowers to his hair, walking to find out if any bikes were available (once again they were not), they finally decided to head to the kids club where he was going to have dinner. Hoping that it would be a drama free dinner it turned out to be quite the opposite. Once again a very reluctant Cadet decided not to eat and trying to lure him with screen time did not work and only managed to receive death stairs from other parents. With yet another failed dinner, the Captain wondered if his exploration idol Percy Fawcett faced similar challenges with amazonian tribes. Illy took the Cadet to the playcentre and the Captain went over to the restaurant to see if they could accelerate their booking, but they refused. FInally they got seated, with the Cadet still busy with Illy at the play centre they knew their time was short before the Cadet realised the rest of the crew had deserted him. Despite ordering quickly and the food coming relatively fast (at least for Fijian time standards) Illy returned to them in between courses, the plan to occupy the Cadet had failed. They dismissed Illy and thanked him for his efforts to tame the beast and the Admiral quickly ate the Salmon that was cooking on a hot volcanic plate. In that time the Captain entertained the maniac that had made his return. As soon as the Admiral’s meal was complete she scurried off taking the Cadet back to the room, leaving the Captain to be serenaded as he ate his half roast chicken peacefully. Strolling back to the Room waving hello to fellow frogs, the Captain finished Day 2.

The day started off well, with a quick visit to the cafe for some coffee and muffin, which on the day the Cadet decided he did not want to eat , they made their daily pilgrimage to the bike shop to find that today the bikes were available! They loaded themselves onto the bikes with the Cadet behind the Captain and started to ride to the previously discovered Musket Cove. A stunning yet much quieter property they visited the supermarket and loaded the cadet up with snacks, which he seemed to appreciate, lifting his mood, they were able to walk around and explore the property, even jumping in the pool for a quick swim.

They then left Musket cove, and headed back to the resort to explore the final pool, the best one in the Captain's eyes, the pool on the beach. A beautiful pool Located on the beach with crystal clear water that resembled an infinity pool it was picturesque like it was printed on a postcard and just the perfect temperature for a swim. Here they swam and played before heading back to the beach hoping for a better outcome than the day before.

It was off to a good start, the Cadet instantly looking for shells and more open to going into the water, however after about 10 minutes a loud announcement was made that the beach is closed due to low tide. When the Captain approached the staff to find out what was going on andthey explained that the low tide means that there are stingrays up close to shore and if you go into the water you could step on them, leading them to sting you. The previous week a patron had been stung, it is extremely painful and leads to many sleepless nights. Amazed at his story and slightly afraid, the Captain swooped up the Cadet and said “Nope” as he walked to the closest cafe for lunch.

This time to their surprise the Cadet smashed his nuggets and chips. He was in better spirits and was happily eating much to the surprise of the Captain and Admiral. Post lunch with the beach closed they decided to ride back to the room for a much needed nap

Once again as the admiral and Cadet had a nap, the Captain who was now armed with a bike and decided to ride to the other side of the resort to explore. On the other side pf the island, the Captain discovered the adults only Lomani Resort and despite the sign saying no bikes the Captain rode around but was disappointed to find the pools were not accessible. An unfruitful outing, he headed back to read more of his idol's adventures by the pool. Sipping on new and different cocktails, he relaxed and enjoyed the peace

After the Cadet and Admiral, awoke from their slumber, they jumped on their bikes and headed to view the sunset point, located high up on the tallest mountain called Lomani point. They rode as far as they could and then the rest was to be a slight hike up. Stowing the bicycles away they held onto the Cadet as they climbed the steep incline up the mountain to the tallest point. It was exhausting but definitely worth it. From the top of the mountain. They could see the views of the island and the surrounding stunning scenery. Here they spent a good one hour, admiring the beauty walking around and playing with sticks. It was probably the most beautiful and visually aesthetic view that the Captain had ever seen. He was taken aback as he cast his sight to the horizon as the sun set. Continuing to fool around, they meet other travellers that have travelled the world to be at the spot at the same time as them. A very serendipitous moment for The Captain and Admiral, and they believe it was the same for the Cadet who enjoyed his new found sticks. With the final rays of sunlight remaining, they climbed down, jumped on their bikes and headed to the pier for a final view of that majestic and stunning sunset.

Dinner that night was going to be at Copra, the buffet place and it was curry night, and like the last time at the restaurant it was a massive success, the Cadet eating almost everything. Joining the dancing and festivities post dinner, it seemed like his favourite pastime. They finished up and headed back to the room to complete packing their bags, as the next day they had to check out of their island paradise that had housed them for the last few days.

Bags packed, they wheeled them out of the room and rode to return the bikes, sadly returning the vessels that had given them so much good times in the last 24 hours.
While the Admiral was away, the captain snuck into the buffet area and took some toast for the cadet. He walked in confidently even though he had not paid for anything and then upon the admiral's return he instructed her to also go in and grab some food. Unfortunately she got caught by the chef who asked her the room number. The Admiral tried to weasel her way out of this situation but in the end reluctantly muttered her room number. The chef looked for the number in the book and for some miraculous reason said she was welcome to enjoy the breakfast buffet! Sending news to the rest of the crew, they wasted no time and loaded up their plates as they packed up the breakfast area, knowing confidently that they had not paid for it. It was a small win on the last day at the resort.

After scoffing down some free food, the crew headed to the beach for one last time before the ferry was to arrive. Here they found a man who was building fish houses that would later be joined with coral and dropped into the ocean. He had made thousands so far and dropped them into the ocean to preserve the coral and the wildlife. Alongside another small human, the Cadet joined in and assisted in building the fish houses, he ended up spilling some red coral paint and putting cement in the wrong areas. Despite the look of embarrassed parents the whole exercise was wholesome and fun

The time had come to say goodbye to this island paradise, as a final act they said goodbye to the beach, giving it one last look, headed to reception and paid the bill, strolling with a sense of sadness to the dock where the ship was to pick them up. Here they sat amongst other travellers waiting for the ferry to arrive. It finally arrived with newcomers disembarking, eyes filled with adventure and excitement, just as theirs had been only a few days ago. Once they had all disembarked, those returning home started boarding, this time to sad farewell music played by the locals, triggering deep emotions and an onset of nostalgia as they walked up the ramp onto the vessel. Ready to be transported away watching the island disappear as they set sail back to mainland.

An Uneventful Camping Trip This tale

Captain Log Date - 09/03/14

This tale begins with a decision to head on a Traralgon to attend the yearly Scouts theatre performance. A Work Colleague of mine has been involved in a theatre performance that involves children and adults, from 4 years old to 60 year olds.

Since Traralgon is about an hour and a half away from where I stay I invited Amit, Avi and Dinesh so we could make a weekend of it and go Camping. We booked tickets for the 2 PM show on Saturday.

Avi at first declined as he was busy and then at the last moment decided – you know what – ill come up just for Friday night. we decided that Traralgon was a bit far for him – so to call a compromise we decided for Friday night we will head half way – we google mapped and found a heap green land in a place called Bunyip

So Friday we night by the time we gathered the herd, had dinner etc. it was about 12-1:00 am when we left – and since Avrill had to be back sat morning he took his car and I took mine. Amit and Avi in Avrills car and myself and Dinesh leading in mine

At about 2:00 we had entered Bunyip State Park. At this point I don’t know if this place is hard to describe or easy to… There was nothing there….. Ok that was the easy description – here is the more detailed one.. think dirt road, single lane, no lights, just dirt and rock flying up as your car drifts, potholes invisible at night, as deep as your foot, wild life and trees.. trees everywhere. The place is a forest. And you drive, no going back.. you keep driving, slow very slow, 30 – 40 kmph since you have no idea what will come out, we see kangaroos alive and dead on the road, silence, we drive – 30 mins into the drive I hear Dinesh yell in the silence RAGGIE RAGGIE RAGGIE…. BANG!!!! The car drifts off road and I yell.. in the rear view mirror I see a Wombat walk away…. What I don’t see is a part of my car fly off…

I continue to drive – since the wombat is ok I assume that my car is too – and now we have been driving for about an hour, still dirt road, no camp sites in vision, nothingness is prevailing and the potholes are getting deeper, with Sticks and large objects on the road often to dodge.. Time is now almost 3 am, and I start hearing my car clicking and cluttering, I say to Dinesh lets stop.. we do.. my bumper is snapped, my rear mudguard is gone.. Avrill and Amit who were behind me tell me a piece of my car fly off and the wombat walked away.. there is some serious cosmetic damage to the car… we assess the situation, notice that none of us have reception and decide to drive on… the front bumper is broken – not much can be done about it. And atm we need to find a place to stay and some reception. We continue to drive and the nothingness continues.

Randomly in the middle of nowhere we see a PERSON staggering drunk on the dirt road.. The book of his car open! We dodge him and continue to drive, Dinesh and myself looking at each other going WTH was that! We drive on now with Goosebumps.. still nothing, no signs of anything. It feels at this point that we are in a horror movie. Darkness, serial killers, no reception, damaged cars.. The thoughts of doom and peril start creeping

Finally about 30 minutes later we see a sign for a Motorbike unloading area and a helipad. We follow this sign as this is the only hope we have.. it leads us down a path where trees are marked to be logged – and the potholes get deeper and shrubs are appearing on the road, as if no one has driven down it in YEARS. We follow it not knowing where it goes. To our avail it ends up in a desolate helipad. We decide at this point that we cannot go on any further. Next to the helipad there was a sitting area and a place we could start a small bonfire..– its almost 4 am and we need to rest.

We started a bonfire, cooked our food, ate and drank all till the wee hours of the morning; we even found had a pet spider. Avrill leaves around 9am and we have a nap for a few hours in the car.

After our 1 hour nap, we woke up and freshened up – we saw the helipad in all its glory, which to be honest wasn’t much, just a bunch of rocks in a circle with dirt everywhere – I look back and am soo grateful no helicopter actually landed.. I think there would have been a mushroom cloud of dust about 20 meters high.

So Amit, Dinesh and myself, freshened up brushed, cleared up, inspected the damage then headed back on the road to Traralgon, it was hot so we stopped by got some coffee and changed into cooler cloths.

Finally got to the show – YES WE MADE IT ON TIME (anyone that knows us won’t believe this) ok ok we were 10 minutes late – but we didn’t miss anything! The show was great fun! It reminded me of the school plays, the jokes were actually funny – I think both Amit and Dishesh were surprised at the quality and effort that went into the show, well planned, brilliantly scripted and a very catchy score. After the show our exhaustion from the night before had disappeared, we resurrected with a new found objective, and that objective was….To find our next Camping ground.

We did some research and found our next habitat for the night. Moondarra State Park.

Now if you thought the first part of this camping trip was interesting, funny and entertaining, this one may feel like Jerry Seinfeld on steroids and a few lines of speed.

We reach Moondarra State Park, to get into the camp grounds a deep decent is required, When we were driving down I was actually scared that my car would not be able to make it up.. with my foot on the brake I descend at 10 kmph slowly, steadily, finally we get to the bottom and the camp grounds. This place looks like nirvana compared to the last helipad we were staying at, there is people (big win), several camp grounds, fire barrels, a lake and cleared land amongst mountains. . we find a free spot – There are about 10 campsites and most look taken.

So we park the car and start setting up tent, D is busy setting up camp, I start unloading the car and we send Amit on a mission to find Fire wood. In the meantime I start talking to the campsite next to us, a very friendly couple from Netherlands, we chat, I borrow the axe and things are pleasant. I continue unloading the car and move to help Dinesh with the tent.

This is when we see Amit walking down with a man carrying a MASSIVE LOG. I kid you guys not I do not see the man carrying it just the log – which appears to be about 5 feet long and thick as a stump. I run over to help the guy, I grab one end and it is ridiculously heavy and covered in Mud. I am barely able to hold it when I have a glimpse of this persons face.

The guy is about 21 years old, and man has no Neck… Just 2 shoulders and a head attached to it. He is about 4 foot 7, stocky and chubby he was wearing a wife beater and smelt like dirt mixed with VB and smoke. This man has no front teeth, top or bottom and the side of his teeth are yellow. The first impression and vision I had when I saw this guy was the guy on the right – later consulting with both Dinesh and Amit, the feelings were mutual and they too were reminded of the same characters.

Once he drops the wood, which he once again single handily picks up and re-positions, he opens his mouth – this gents name is Andrew. He is there with his friend Brad.

SO we thank Andrew and his Companion Brad for helping us out with. They explain how they are from Lalor and Epping. Andrew does nothing, although I suggest you could just pick up buildings and move them. Brad is a lawnmower, who recently suffered an accident, as his 16 year old brother who is 6 foot 7 picked him up and dropped him on his shoulders. Conversation continues sand they walk off – at this point Dinesh, Amit and I discussed how we had just met the most Bogan Characters ever.

We go for a walk and then head back, start the fire and start to have a few drinks and relax. The sun is setting so we give ourselves a break and chill. At this point Brad returns with his other mate, Michael, another very stocky looking guy, who seems a little less bogan, riveting conversation pursues, about how was a manager at Mcdonalds, whether or not we fight (when we say no, they come over to check and feel our biceps), then question us why we don’t fight, then they explain all the fights they have had and how many people have had their heads bashed in.

With all this interesting conversation happening they call over a third member from there group.. I actually forgot his name, but he was referred to as Brad’s Boyfriend, over and over. Thinking this is a joke we laugh, this gent walks over.. and without saying a word Brad request a cigarette which this man rolls for him, to which Brad slaps him (no reason for this) the guy says nothing, he then kisses him on the lips and pushes him.. the guy says nothing.. ..Brad slaps him again. The guy remains to stand there – many words come to mind when thinking of this person much along the lines of slave, and a word that rhymes with Shrimp (starts with G)

Conversation then moves towards guns, and how much damage certain guns can do, about the Sudanese community, and finally it moves towards how Michaels gf burnt down his house the week before and how Brad has violent outburst due to his ADHD conditions.

At this point 40 minutes have passed and we are thinking how we run away from these crazy folk. I decide to walk off and Amit does too.. D remains there with these guys and when we come back they have moved on. *Phew*

So we are chilling and once again Michael runs over – we see a flurry of activity in the campsites to the right of us. Michael comes over and tells us a Bushfire has broken out. Some guy across the river got disgruntled with his landlord and burnt the house. Embers are in the sky and everyone has packed up.

We commence operation pack up and evacuate!!! As we are evacuating a warden drives in and with a light asks us to leave asap. We continue packing up – a guy then speeds down yelling “GET OUT GET OUT!” in a commodore with his window open – we later find out this is the guy who burnt the house and wanted to come warn people . We pack up in a hurry as we can clearly see the embers in the air outside. I notice that the others to the left of us (Netherlands couple are not packing up.. I go and warn them – they had not heard the warnings. The guy looks at the sky and realises the danger is real. We then commence and warn the other families trying our best not to scare the kids.

We load everything in the car, even though there are others that have just left everything, and we head to the entrance of the campsite – yes my car survives the steep climb 😀 we drove up as fast as we could because we could see the embers getting close

We get to the top where there are many others waiting and fire engines are arriving on the scene – we are told to wait with everyone until they figure out the threat. We wait and 3 fire engines arrive and enter the campsite. By this stage everyone has been evacuated.

We look for more campsites in the region and finally find one called Lake Narracan near Moe, this is a paid site – we get there around 11 and the reception looks closed. We ring the bell and about 1 minute later the man comes, this man has make upon his face and his eyebrows are taped up – Yes yes a cross dresser. We had interrupted his ritual with our hunt for accommodation. he gives us a place. We drive in and on the middle of the strip there is a Billy Goat just chilling. We drive around the goat since it looked pretty adamant that it was the owner of the campsite (possibly was with the rituals that were going on). We finally got to our site – set up camp cooked some amazing Chicken Saracha Tenderloins and roasted some veggies. Then slept!

Sunday – We woke up the weather was fantastic 28 Degrees, suns up – we headed to Inverloch and went to the beach– got there and the cool change was setting in, we had a quick BBQ, some ciders, enjoyed the view and took some snaps. Finally we then headed back to Melbourne.
